Dianthus 'Red beauty' PPAF, or Dianthus Gratianopolitanus, is a mounding perennial that blooms from early spring and continues on and off until early winter. It has a low mound of grassy blue grey foliage with red fragrant flowers which shoot up on 7 to 8 inch stalks. It can grow 5-7 inches tall and 8-12 inches wide.
They like full sun and well drained soil. They are drought-tolerant once established and are deer resistant. The flowers attract bees, butterflies and birds. Dead head to encourage more blooms. They make an excellent addition to rock gardens or for use as border edging.
