

Native to Southern Africa, these strong-growing perennials are popular for their fine foliage and showy flowers produced over summer. Some other names are Agapanthus africanus, Agapanthus "Blue Baby",Agapanthus praecox, Agapanthus campanulatus, Agapanthus inapertus, Agapanthus "Loch Hope", and Agapanthus "Peter Pan". Arching, strap-shaped leaves spring from short rhizomes with dense, fleshy roots. Flowers are various shades of blue in many flowering umbels, borne on a long erect stem, often up to 3 ft. or more tall. They are ideal for background plants or for edging along a wall, driveway, or fence.
