Marigold

Marigolds are perhaps one of the toughest bedding plants you can grow in our area. They take our heat and humidity better than many other flowering annuals. So they provide great color throughout our spring, summer and fall.

Marigolds vary in color from a bright sunny yellow to orange and deep reds, including color combinations in a single flower. They can be used in containers or gardens. They look great when planted planted in mass, which provides eye-catching color.

Plant them in fertile, well drained soil with full sun. You can fertilize every six weeks or so for optimal flowering. Also make sure to deadhead old flowers to keep up flower production. Water regularly especially during hot dry periods.
